I had worked for two wonderful employers but unfortunately I had difficulties getting from them the documents required for applying for an open work permit and permanent residency. I followed up through emails, phone calls and registered mail just to get those documents. After waiting for months, I finally received them and could pass my papers to CIC. It was an unpleasant experience. I can say that this is one of the examples of the vulnerability of live-in caregivers… – C.A.
